Shark Fishing

Want to catch the ultimate sea predator? The crew of the White Water II specialize in finding and landing Blue shark and Tope shark in the waters of Galway Bay. Tope can reach total lengths of 195 cm (6.4 feet) and weigh up to 44.7 kg (98.5 pounds). Tope put up a good fight, making it worth the while when you finally land one! Also lurking beneath the waves is the Blue shark. The largest caught and measured blue shark was 13 feet long and nearly 600 pounds, though there are reports of blues over 15 feet in length! You could get lucky and find yourself with a Porbeagle shark on the line. The "Porgie", as it is affectionately known, is this area's biggest game fish. It is thought to grow to about a thousand pounds and is endemic to the cool waters of the North Atlantic.
